Hundreds of passengers with Aero Contractors Airlines tickets were, this morning, stranded at the Murtala Muhammed Domestic Airport Terminal II, Lagos, as pilots of the airline went on strike, forcing the management of the airline to cancel some flights, while some were delayed for several hours.

As at 11a.m., this morning, no Aero Contractor flight had taken-off from the Lagos Airport. For instance, Flight AJ 5251 from Lagos to Benin, scheduled to take off at 7.45 a.m., was cancelled and many passengers left unattended to. Other flights to Port Harcourt and Enugu were still on the Lagos Tarmac three hours after take-off time.

P.M.News learnt that the pilots are on strike to press home their demand for better conditions of service. The management of the airline, however, would not answer questions or tell their own side of the story, while efforts to speak with some of the striking pilots were ongoing as at press time.
